What is Homestake?

Homestake is a scheme unique to Scotland that aims to help low earners get a foot on the property ladder. You pay for around 60% of the cost of a Homestake property and a Homestake registered landlord pays for the rest. When you can afford it, you can buy the rest of the property at a later date. If you move you will receive a percentage of the sale equivalent to the amount you own. Usually, the property has been built specifically for the Homestake scheme.
